BYD Seal Floor Mats Guide for Australia

Choosing Floor Mats for the BYD Seal
The BYD Seal has a low, refined cabin that owners often want to keep looking clean. Daily commuting, passengers, wet shoes and coastal sand can still introduce dirt and moisture even when the car is carefully maintained. Model-specific floor mats help protect the original carpet, while separate liners can cover the boot, frunk and rear seat backs.
The amount of protection you need depends on how the vehicle is used. Cabin mats may be enough for a commuter, while a combined set can be more useful when the Seal regularly carries luggage, shopping, pets or outdoor equipment.
Why Custom Fit Matters in the BYD Seal
Universal mats are made to suit many vehicles, so they may leave carpet exposed or require trimming. Custom-fit mats follow the Seal footwells more closely and are intended to sit securely without interfering with normal vehicle controls.
After installation, confirm that the driver’s mat lies flat and remains clear of the accelerator and brake pedal. Check the other pieces around seat rails, vents, latches and folding areas. Correct placement is more important than simply covering the largest possible area.
What Is XPE?
XPE means cross-linked polyethylene. It is a lightweight closed-cell foam used for water-resistant vehicle protection. The BYD Seal mats available from EEVA Store have a textured surface and raised edges to help contain dirt, sand and small spills. They are also odourless and designed for easy removal and cleaning.
Unlike carpet, XPE does not rely on absorbency. This helps keep moisture on the removable liner rather than allowing it to soak into the mat itself.

Comparing Common Floor Mat Materials
- Carpet: soft and familiar, but more likely to retain moisture and fine dirt.
- Rubber: durable and easy to rinse, although it can be heavier and have a simpler finish.
- TPE: firm moulded protection with strong water resistance.
- XPE: lightweight layered protection with raised edges and straightforward cleaning.
For the Seal, many owners choose XPE when they want practical protection without a heavy rubber appearance. Material choice remains personal, so consider how often the mats will be removed and cleaned.
Protecting the Cabin, Boot, Frunk and Seat Backs
The Seal range includes separate XPE listings for cabin, boot, frunk and rear seat back protection:
- 8-piece full protection set
- 6-piece floor mats, boot liner and frunk mat set
- 5-piece floor mats, boot liner and seat back protector set
- 5-piece boot liner, frunk mats and seat back protector set
- floor mats and boot liner set
- floor mats
- frunk mats
- seat back protector
- boot liner
The number of pieces simply identifies how many areas are covered. Review the product title, images and “What’s Included” section carefully before ordering.
Compatibility and Fitment Checks
These pieces are designed for the BYD Seal. When unpacking the order, compare each item with the relevant area before removing protective packaging or using the product. Confirm that:
- The driver’s mat is stable and does not touch the pedals.
- The rear mat and passenger mat sit flat.
- The boot liner is positioned on the correct boot-floor surface.
- Frunk pieces allow the lid to close normally.
- Seat-back protection does not cover release handles or stop the seats folding.
Different cargo areas can look similar in photos. If you are unsure where a piece belongs, contact EEVA Store before forcing or trimming it.
How to Clean and Care for XPE Liners
- Remove loose items from the area and lift out each liner.
- Shake or vacuum away sand, dust and crumbs.
- Wipe or rinse with water and mild soap.
- Do not use strong solvents, abrasive brushes or high heat.
- Air-dry the pieces completely before reinstalling them.
For the driver’s mat, inspect its position every time it is reinstalled.
Common Questions
Do I need frunk mats?
Frunk mats are optional. They can be useful if the frunk carries charging equipment or other items that may leave marks or moisture.
What does seat-back protection do?
It covers the rear-facing surface of the folded seats, helping protect that area when longer or dirty items are placed through the boot.
Can I buy only the boot liner?
Yes. The product currently includes separate boot-liner, floor-mat, frunk and seat-back options as well as combined sets.
