BYD OEM dash cam and two-plug cable compatibility guide from EEVA Store Australia

BYD OEM Dash Cam Guide: Compatibility & Installation

The EEVA Store BYD OEM dash cam is designed for selected BYD Atto 2, Atto 3, Dolphin, Seal and Sealion 6 vehicles. It provides a clean, factory-integrated installation on compatible vehicles, but compatibility is not universal across every model, production date or variant.

Important Compatibility Check Before Purchase

Do not order based only on the vehicle model name. BYD can change wiring, connectors, camera housings and factory equipment between production dates, new models and individual variants.

  • Some compatible vehicles have the required dash-cam wiring pre-installed.
  • Some models and variants do not have the pre-installed wiring and require a cable to be routed manually.
  • New models or updated variants may use different hardware and might not be compatible.
  • Customers must obtain compatibility confirmation from EEVA Store before purchasing.

This item is not eligible for change-of-mind returns or returns caused by choosing an incompatible version against this compatibility notice. This does not limit rights under Australian Consumer Law where goods are faulty, misdescribed or otherwise fail a consumer guarantee.

Compatible BYD Models

The camera may be suitable for selected versions of the following vehicles:

Being listed above does not confirm compatibility with every variant. The exact vehicle and its existing wiring must still be checked before ordering.

What Is a BYD OEM Dash Cam?

An OEM dash cam is designed to fit the factory camera position and connect with the vehicle using the matching wiring and mounting points. On a compatible vehicle, this creates a cleaner installation than a typical windscreen-mounted aftermarket camera.

The EEVA Store camera is model EL-3776900 and is available in silver and black versions. An additional wiring cable is also available for vehicles that do not have the required pre-installed connection.

Pre-Installed Wiring Versus Manual Cable Installation

Vehicles with pre-installed wiring

Some vehicles already have the matching power and data connection behind the mirror housing or overhead trim. When the correct plug and camera version are present, installation may be relatively direct.

Vehicles without pre-installed wiring

Other models and variants do not include the required factory cable. In these vehicles, a suitable cable must be routed manually from the camera location to the required vehicle connection or power supply.

Manual cable routing requires care around the roof lining, A-pillar trim, airbags and other factory wiring. If you are not experienced with vehicle trim and electrical work, use a qualified automotive installer or auto electrician.

How to Confirm Compatibility

Before ordering, contact EEVA Store and provide:

  1. The exact BYD model.
  2. The model year and, where known, the build or delivery date.
  3. The exact variant or trim level.
  4. Clear photos of the mirror housing, overhead console and any existing dash-cam connector requested by our support team.
  5. Confirmation of whether any camera, cable or interface is already installed.

Wait for written confirmation before purchasing. Do not remove vehicle trim if you are unsure; our team will explain which photos are required.

Contact EEVA Store for a compatibility check.

Installation Overview

The exact process depends on the vehicle and whether the wiring is already present. A general installation may involve:

  1. Turning the vehicle off and confirming the correct camera, connector and cable.
  2. Carefully accessing the factory camera position near the rear-view mirror.
  3. Connecting the camera to existing wiring or routing the required cable manually.
  4. Mounting the camera securely without blocking sensors or driver visibility.
  5. Refitting all trim and checking that wiring is not pinched or placed across an airbag path.
  6. Testing the camera and recording function before completing the installation.

Vehicle trim, wiring and system menus can differ between variants. Use the instructions supplied for the confirmed vehicle setup and arrange professional installation if required.

Common Questions

Does the camera fit every Atto 2, Atto 3, Dolphin, Seal or Sealion 6?

No. It may fit selected versions, but connectors, wiring and factory equipment can vary. Compatibility must be confirmed for the exact vehicle before purchase.

Do all supported vehicles have dash-cam wiring?

No. Some have the required wiring pre-installed, while others need a cable to be installed manually.

Can I purchase the wiring cable separately?

Yes. A cable option is available on the product page, but the required setup should still be confirmed before ordering.

Is this the correct camera for the BYD Sealion 7?

No. The Sealion 7 uses a separate dash-cam product and setup. See the BYD Sealion 7 OEM Dash Cam Guide.

Can I return the camera if it does not fit?

The product is not eligible for change-of-mind returns or returns caused by ordering an incompatible version against the compatibility notice. Confirm fitment before purchase. Australian Consumer Law rights still apply where required.
